What does your soul sound like?

2007-10-19(1054 days ago)

Okay, let's all forget that awkward moment yesterday and enjoy some good ol' demon summoning / alien abduction humor instead - the kind we can all relate to.

So, yeah... piecing together the soundtrack for Dead Beat (you know, the upcoming Death Piglet flash game), I came to wonder: what sort of music do you like? More specifically, is there any sort of music you would associate with Death Piglet? I aim somewhere inbetween ska, psychobilly, balkan, cheesy horror movies, kids TV shows, 8-bit games and swinging 60s jazz... with some mainstream hip hop thrown in for added confusion. Minor key, up tempo, backbeat and silly about sums it up. And all tracked in midi for that plastic computer gamy feeling. Here are some examples:

Ingame music
Boss music
Bonus level music (ExPeng theme song)

I'm not even sure the game will HAVE bonus levels, mind. Or bosses. Perhaps in version 2.

Couple shoutouts: thanks for the translation help, Rain. I'm sure your russian is better than mine - and Babelfish's. There's still an opening for translating the whole site if you're interested. And thanks to Micke Lindström for the donation in my time of need! Together with earlier donations, we're just a teensy bit away from another bonus strip! Speaking of which, monday's strip will appear this weekend instead. And hey, you who requested Zombony t-shirts - don't miss the design sketch (link in yesterday's post).
